I wish I had a picture for this, but my boys have revolted from photos of any kind and I just didn't feel like hearing how crazy I am . . . I know it, I just don't need to hear it. But we had a wonderful 24th. My family always went to the Zoo and a few times hiked up to the "this is the place monument", my mom always said it was a hateful hot hike. I think it was a case of dreading it and also being a little older, but it was one of my great memories. I don't remember doing it once we started having a million kids.
Bill always watched the parade (which I always found boring and wondered who ever watched a parade on TV . . . we both had surprises, I couldn't image ever watching a parade on TV and he never knew there were people who actually bought popcorn from a gas station), but anyway we watched it for a while then we cleaned the house and headed up to Cherry Hill, which has become our tradition for the last 4 years or so.
We had so much fun and the water was sooooo nice and cool on such a hot day. Bill and the boys dunked and played rough while I swam around them and helped Carson and Heber when they "literally" got in over their heads . . . and consoled anyone that felt they had been "done wrong". We ended the day floating around the lazy river, while the ones that were still ready for rough and tumble hit the water slides, then walked around the campsites to pick out which would be best for our vacation next week. A whole week of swimming and camping . . . I AM SO EXCITED!
Coming home after a wonderful day and to a clean house I am so grateful that I live in these times of a wonderful home, swimming and air conditioning.
My limited time is up . . . off to play referee to my wild boys and off to primary presidency meeting.
I hope you all had a wonderful 24th.
